S118 QUINCE ORCHARD SUBSTATION, OCB 1A, 3A, 4A & 6A REPLACEMENT
  • Replacing aging 230 kV circuit breakers (OCB 1A, 3A, 4A, and 6A) with modern gas circuit breakers at the S118 Quince Orchard Substation.

  • Engineering and design of multiple electrical components, including disconnect switches, lightning arrestors, insulators, rigid and flexible bus connections, and grounding systems.

  • Ensuring  all  designs  complied  with  industry  standards  and  met  project timelines  while  addressing  the  complex  needs  of  integration  with  existing substation infrastructure.

  • Conducted engineering and pre-construction planning for equipment replacements, including disconnect switches, strain and rigid bus, control wires, and cables.
  • Designed and coordinated installation plans for lightning arrestors, CCVTs, junction boxes, cable trays, conduits, and grounding systems.
  • Provided comprehensive deliverables for each project phase, including Drawing Transmittal  Sheets,  design  review  packages  (30%,  60%,  90%,  100%),  IFC (Issued for Construction) packages, and as-built drawings per CAD standards. Ensured compliance with client (PEPCO) procedures and regulatory standards through meticulous project oversight and risk mitigation.
  • Used detailed project management methodologies to oversee progress, coordinate schedules, manage budgets, and facilitate effective communication among stakeholders.
  • Delivered fully approved and compliant design packages, including IFC  and  as-built  drawings,  ensuring  proper  equipment replacement and system integration.

  • Provided   project   management   deliverables,   including   change notices,  status  reports,  meeting  documentation,  and  schedule updates, ensuring transparent and efficient project execution.

  • Successfully   addressed   the   client’s   goals   for   modernizing substation equipment  while  mitigating  risks  and  adhering  to project timelines and budgets.
