Substation Interconnection Design & Facility Study
  • Multiple interconnection requests under a Cluster Study required consolidated impact assessment on the New York State Transmission and Distribution Systems.
  • Unclear infrastructure upgrade requirements for both CTOAF and SUF. Need  for  coordinated  stakeholder  engagement  and  adherence  to NPCC, NERC, and NYSRC reliability standards.
  • Complex    relay    coordination    and    SCADA    integration    across geographically dispersed substations.
  • Assessed  system  impacts  of  interconnection  projects  on  existing transmission and distribution infrastructure.
  • Identified  necessary  upgrades  to  CTOAF,  including  bus  expansions, additional breakers, and relay adjustments.
  • Defined     SUF     scope     involving     new     protection     schemes, communication infrastructure, and new POI substations.
  • Developed    one-line    diagrams,    system    impact    analysis,    and protection/control schemes.
  • Delivered  System  Impact  Assessment  Report  (SIA), One-Line Diagrams of Affected Substations, Relay Coordination Studies and Protection Philosophy Documents, SCADA Integration Plans, SUF and CTOAF Upgrade Matrices, POI Substation Layouts and Design Criteria, Reliability Compliance Checklists (NPCC, NERC, NYSRC), Schedule-Aligned Submission Packages for Utility and Regulatory Review
  • Enabled timely decision-making through clear technical reporting and schedule-aligned submissions.
