Project: DER Interconnection Studies Program
  • Execute high-volume DER interconnection studies (409 L1, 2 L2, 80 L4) in compliance with ICC requirements and utility’s evolving grid needs. 
  • Streamline feasibility assessments and upgrade identification across 490+ projects while managing cross-departmental coordination. 
  • Ensure scalable communication and documentation to meet regulatory deadlines and stakeholder expectations.
  • 409 Level 1, 2 Level 2, and 80 Level 4 studies.
  • Performed system impact, feasibility, and combined studies using CYME to identify infrastructure upgrades (e.g., reconductoring, capacitor banks, relay adjustments).
  • Automated one-line diagrams, project diagrams, and cost estimates for 100% of studies.
  • Partnered with utility’s Distribution Capacity, Protection Engineering, and DER Planning teams.
  • Deployed Smartsheet/Excel trackers for real-time progress visibility (e.g., upgrade status, cost tracking).
  • DST provided data, maps, charts, and calculations in a format easily accessible by the utility.
  • DST successfully identified necessary grid upgrades and provided cost estimates for DER integration.
  • Throughout this program, DST ensured smooth communication and documentation, meeting regulatory and technical requirements for DER interconnection.
